Worldview & values- It only took me 24 years to figure it out.

My worldview begins and ends with God. I believe that we are here on this earth because the earth was created as we were by our maker. Unlike the theory of Deism, I believe that the Lord is present in all lives. In my heart I know that the Lord is beside me in everything I do. Naturalism suggests that we are here by accident. I don’t believe anything through the creation of Christ has been an accident. (Unexpected pregnancies, death, divorce ect) I do believe that while Christ is here with us, we have freewill in all choices that we make (In my mind this explains murders, rape, abortion, ect) Because of Christ allowing freewill through everyone, the world is far from paradise. This is not to suggest it’s God’s fault the world is imperfect because of freewill. I believe that for some reason unknown to me, people are naturally drawn to sinful behavior and choices. I would like to call my worldview a Christian view, however I don’t view the world as a place of Christ. I think that because we are living a life of freewill we often create our own disasters. I believe we are living in a time of greed and selfishness. Most people, even those who refer to themselves as Christians, are living for themselves. I am uncomfortable with the fact that when someone goes out of their way to be good to another person, we find it foreign and are sometimes un accepting of good deeds for fear that there is an underlying cause. Our constant fear of the world’s ways has created a population of untrusting lives that miss out on so many positive qualities we can offer each other. While my worldview may seem negative by nature, I feel that I myself have found a way to surround my life with individuals who use their freewill in positive ways. We have all be given the opportunity to make choices and decide who we want to be regardless of the ways of the world we are living in.
It is indubitable that our worldviews affects our life values. In my life I value the fact that I am able to live in a country where I can pick my religion and have the privilege of practicing the religion of my choice. I value the relationships I have with my family and friends. I feel fortunate that while I feel we are living in a time of selfishness and greed I am blessed to have so many people in my life that have nothing but love in their hearts. Finally I value my blessings through Christ. Without the Lord I would not be of existence. I feel blessed to be where I am and though I don’t agree with all things that happen in the world, I know I am a child of God and have been put on this earth for a purpose.
